Installation Process: games and speculated reality. Magic for the 21st century is an

experimental publication printed in the year 2023, which consists of 23 pages which feature a

series of collages made from photographs, objects and written papers, randomly found in the

city of Santiago since 2016.

Is this a book of poetry? (Simón Torres): Yes, it is. It is an unproductive gesture that registers a continuous seven-year walk through the city during which these photographs, these written papers and tiny objects that make up these collages began to appear. Each of these images is part of an

uncertain puzzle which invites to know the other one from speculation, which writes the inner

city from proper and improper gestures such as the one who throws the photo; who tears it up,

who picks it up, who sees it, who plays with it in private and in public.

Why think about Santiago today? (ST): I believe that this territory is not very sensitized with

itself and that this microscopic gesture of flying over the city on foot opens the question about all

the cities that appear and disappear in a matter of seconds. Perhaps one of the explicit

invitations of this experimental publication has to do with the search for new ways of perceiving

the city in the midst of all the chaos and violence that inhabits it.

Everyday and anonymous Santiago.

"Santiago on the ground.

Santiago in every possible way.

People walk in Santiago and waste photos,

written papers and letters of an English deck of cards: they leave traces.

Since 2016 I have been walking the streets of Santiago with

the technical gesture of my head down.

On the ground and down the ground I came across these pieces of

life now predisposed in a colorful blink of an eye.

But most of the eyes that live here are mutilated.

Santiago is no longer the same,

Nor was it before another".
